Step 3. --------------------------------------------------------- Finding and choosing the right keywords is very important. Choose the wrong kind of keywords and you can get loads of traffic but no sales resulting in a lot of lost money. But by choosing targeted keywords, you will attract the right kind of customers which can result in lots of sales. That is, if you have created a good sales page which does a good job of preselling the product you are promoting.
There are lots of keyword research tools available but to get started we'll work with the free wordtracker keyword search tool. Now click on the link for the free wordtracker keyword tool and type in "baby shoes" and click on the "Hit Me" button. The following results are subject to change but when performing this example my results looked like the following: 398 baby shoes Naturally you see that there are plenty of people looking for baby shoes, but you don't necessarily want to just use all of these keywords to draw people to your site.
You only want to choose the keywords that are directly related to the type of shoes you are selling. So if you are not able to provide "baby phat shoes" then you don't want to use that specific keyword unless you think you can interest them into something else and still make the sale. Under normal circumstances I would stay away from it. But say you are able to provide "baby phat shoes", then absolutely you need to keep that keyword. But don't stop there. To be completely thorough you need to click on the nike "baby phat shoes" keyword which will give you another list of keywords that are related to that particular keyword.
Sometimes these keywords are already in the previous list but sometimes they are not, so to be thorough you need to do this step. Copy and paste every keyword into a notepad and click back to return to the previous screen of which you will do this for every keyword which you know targets your product or niche. When you get done with that you want to scan your list, get rid of the numbers on the left, and keep only the keywords you know are completely targeted to your product. --------------------------------------------------------- One thing to remember - the free wordtracker keyword tool Also it doesn't list keywords in the proper order many times. For example, let's take the keyword "nike baby shoes" from the list. The keyword tool may see it the same as "baby nike shoes" or "baby shoes nike". So you need to make sure YOU take care of getting all of the different variations for that keyword because even though yahoo sees them the same, google and msn and other search engines sees them as different keywords. And naturally, if you don't have those keywords within those search engines then you will not receive any traffic from those search engines for those specific keywords. This is what makes or breaks people from making good money. Take a little time now to make a lot of money later. It There are many other keyword tools and services that are much better than the Wordtracker Research Tool. Lately I have been using the free tool at SeoBook.com and also Google's Free Keyword Tool. There are also many advanced keyword tools that are very good as well, but I find these to work very well. I understand that all of this can be a little bit confusing, especially in the beginning. I know it did to me. Buy a domain, get it hosted, build a website, find keywords, etc, etc, etc... You can get lost or confused in a hurry and some people just give up and never try again. It's really not difficult at all... once you understand it. If you want to jump past it all and get on the fast track to success, sign up as a premium member. You will get access to ebooks, pdfs, bonuses, video's and more, all set up to take you step-by-step how to start and build your online business... even if you have no previous experience at all.
For step 4 we will be discussing "How to Build a Website". You have chosen your niche, found a product and built a list of keywords... now you need a website to promote it. Previous tutorial: |
